 Cellular blinds act as an insulating layer at the window which

The fabric is designed so that it traps air within the cells which acts as a cold or heat buffer between the glass and the room.

The cellular construction of the fabric also allows the cords to pass through the centre of the fabric making them invisible in some blind models. This is not only asethically pleasing, but also minimises light ingress especially when using a room darkening fabric.
